Among Sony's other announcements at GamesCom, there was word of a large update coming to PlayStation Home in September. The PlayStation.Blog has detailed some of the changes we can expect. First off, it will finally introduce game launching from directly in Home, a feature we've seen as part of the Home presentations since long before it launched. Home users will see icons over their heads to signify games they can play, and can insert a new disc to launch a new game if they meet someone for multiplayer. The update will also add store previewing, letting you check out items on your avatar before purchasing. Cameras will be provided to Home users to snap shots as they explore, and users will be able to hide portable items (like cameras) from anyone on their block list. New avatar emotes and a SingStar-themed space will be coming as well.
