The new platform builds on NetBenefit's virtual private servers released earlier this year, and is driven by Microsoft's Hyper-V hypervisor and based on Windows Server 2008 Release 2.
This environment allows users to quickly allocate extra memory and processor resources as required for each virtual private server. It also offers added features such as failover capabilities and little or no downtime during routine patching and maintenance, according to the firm.
"NetBenefit's strategic alliance with Microsoft has led to our senior engineers taking part in the Hyper-V Early Adopter Programme and the Windows 2008 Technology Adoption Programme," said Colin Bell, managing director of NetBenefit.
The company said that the whole platform is underpinned by Dell blade servers packing in Intel's Nehalem server chips, and sits behind a powerful firewall layer to help ensure data security.
"Many of our customers recognise the benefits that virtualisation offers in terms of flexibility, speed of deployment and competitive pricing," added Bell. "When it comes to virtualisation, we believe the Ultra-V platform really is the ultimate in scalable, flexible and secure managed hosting solutions."
NetBenefit also promises round-the-clock technical support as part of its hosted service.
