The presenter, who has given up her daytime show for a weekend programme, treated a house full of guests to wine and home-made cookies as she presented her swansong show.

Jay-Z was performing live from her Northamptonshire home with pals such as Chris Moyles and Kaiser Chiefs star Ricky Wilson looking on.

And the rap giant changed the lyrics of his tracks to praise the outgoing presenter, who is handing her 10am show over to Fearne Cotton from next week.

"I'm feeling elated because I've got all my favourite people here, everyone's turned up. All of my family are here, it's just fantastic and I love my show and it's all good," the emotional DJ said.

Also on hand were Radio 1 controller Andy Parfitt and fellow DJ Trevor Nelson.

Whiley, who has been replaced in an overhaul of the station's schedule, has been presenting a week of shows on the road with her Live Lounge Tour.

Guests this week have included Kasabian, Biffy Clyro and JLS with live performances from each.

She rounded off the show with Green Day's song Time of Your Life. "I love it and it sums everything up really," she added.

Whiley will now move to Saturdays and Sundays with a 1pm show from September 26.
