Now that former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans' fight with Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has been scrapped, Evans is looking to face Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist Thiago Silva next.

"Thiago Silva is a good fighter, I'd like to fight him and I think he wants to fight me," Evans recently told FanHouse. "When I saw him after he fought Keith Jardine, he kind of gave me a nasty look that I interpreted like he wanted to take me on, and I'd like that."

The fight has already been rumored to be set for UFC 108 in January, although the UFC has yet to confirm the bout. Silva recently spoke to MMAJunkie.com about potentially fighting Evans.

"Rashad is a former champion and a top-level fighter," Silva told the site. "I would love the opportunity to demonstrate that my skills are on that same level."

While Silva wouldn't confirm that the fight was confirmed, he did admit to be back in training.

"I don't know what the UFC will want from me next, but I am already back training," Silva said. "I will be ready when they call."

Silva looked impressive with his victory over Keith Jardine UFC 102, and is hoping to eventually face Lyoto Machida again, the man who handed him his first ever loss at UFC 94.

"It's one of my main goals to fight Lyoto Machida again," Silva said. "That defeat hurt my soul."

UFC 108 is scheduled to take place on January 2, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The card is expected to be headlined by UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva defedning his title against Vitor Belfort.
