A Texas woman who was angry with her ex-husband vented her rage against some entirely innocent parties - she fried their pet goldfish and ate some of them.
Police in Pasadena, just south of Houston, say that the goldfish-eating is a civil matter and no charges will be filed.
The seven goldfish were purchased together by the couple during happier times.
Police spokesman Vance Mitchell said the woman's former common-law husband reported on Saturday that his ex-wife had taken the goldfish from his apartment.
The two had argued earlier about some jewellery the man had given her, but then took back, Mitchell said. The wife wanted the jewellery returned.
Officers who were dispatched to the woman's home to recover the fish arrived to find four fried goldfish on a plate.
The woman said she had already eaten the other three.
