Stephanie Birkitt has not been banned from the set of the Late Show With David Letterman, according to the chatshow host's production company.
The 34-year-old hit the headlines last week after Letterman publicly admitted to having sexual relationships with some female members of his staff.
He also alleged that he had been blackmailed over the affairs. 48 Hours producer Robert Halderman was later arrested in connection with the scheme.
Birkitt is rumoured to be one of the women linked to Letterman and is also believed to have dated Halderman in the past.
Speaking to E! News, a representative for his company Worldwide Pants said: "Stephanie is on a paid leave of absence... reporting that she is banned from the building is incorrect."
Birkitt reportedly worked as Letterman's assistant and later became his personal attorney.
