Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal has reportedly inked a multi-fight, non-exclusive deal with Strikeforce. Although the signing has not yet been confirmed by the San Jose-based organization, it’s possible that he could make his light heavyweight debut as early as December.

King Mo holds a perfect 5-0 MMA record, however has done almost all of his damage overseas as an employee for World Victory Road. American fans caught a glimpse of what the 28-year-old was capable of when it took him all of 25 seconds to put Mark Kerr to sleep during their M-1 Global bout in Kansas City, Missouri a couple months back.

As with other popular Strikeforce athletes, Lawal’s contract is non-exclusive, which will allow him to remain a prominent fighter in Japan, where the fans have taken quite well to his flamboyant charm.

Although his record is unblemished, his skills have yet to be tested against any of the world’s elite fighters. Coming to terms with Strikeforce is a win/win for the former Division I All-American wrestling champ as he will be given an opportunity to really make a name for himself in his homeland, and he gets to dabble in two ponds – doubling his exposure and paydays.
