A Texas woman who lived with a corpse for a week has been committed for mental evaluation.
Police were eventually alerted by a man who reported a stench coming from his sister's apartment.
Upon entering, they found the body of the 45-year-old's boyfriend, William Drake, who police believe had died a week before, judging by the condition of the corpse.
Lt Van Burr of Big Sandy police said Mr Drake "didn't want to leave the apartment". He added that Mr Drake had died of natural causes and that the woman had previously been hospitalized for mental illness before.
He refused to reveal her name.
