TIGER Woods has today for a second time declined to speak with police over a crash outside his home.

Authorities expect to soon release recordings of the emergency call made to police after the golfer smashed his sport utility vehicle into a fire hydrant and a tree.

The Florida Highway Patrol said it would investigate as a traffic accident the crash early on Friday that left Woods' mouth bloodied, AP reports.

He is not required by law to speak with police.

Woods was injured during a heated argument with his wife amid reports linking him to another woman, who was in Melbourne while he played in the Australian Masters.

The superstar - whose lawyers have reportedly denied any affair - was resting at home today after being released from a Florida hospital.

His alleged lover, glamorous American party planner Rachel Uchitel spoke out last night, denying any sexual contact.

"This is nothing to do with me. The claims are completely false," Ms Uchitel told Britain's News of the World, adding they had never spoken on the phone or texted.

Ms Uchitel, who became a celebrity after her fiance Andy O'Grady was killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, said she was upset at being portrayed as a "home wrecker".

Police said the 33-year-old was hurt when he crashed his car after leaving his $2.6 million Orlando mansion.

The accident, which happened about 2.25am on Friday (Florida time), saw Woods' Cadillac 4WD slam into a fire hydrant and tree just metres from his home. Police said alcohol was not involved.

Police said his Swedish model wife Elin Nordegren heard the accident, went outside and used a golf club to smash a window and help her husband out of the car, where he then lay unconscious in the street for up to six minutes.

He was still drifting in and out of consciousness when police arrived.

But website TMZ - which broke the news of Michael Jackson's death - later alleged Woods was injured when his wife scratched his face during a heated row over reports that he was having an affair.

The alleged row came after paparazzi-style photos of glamorous New Yorker Rachel Uchitel - to be published by the National Enquirer tomorrow - leaked on to the internet.

Websites claimed the pictures were taken as she checked into Melbourne's Crown Towers this month.

Woods stayed at the Crown Towers with his mother, Kultilda, when he contested the Australian Masters at Kingston Heath on November 15.

TMZ said Ms Nordegren confronted Woods over reports of an affair.

The celebrity website also obtained a copy of the police accident report, which listed Woods' injuries as serious.

TMZ claimed Nordegren scratched Woods' face during the heated argument, leading the golfing ace to jump into his car and leave the house.

"But according to our source, Woods says his wife followed behind with a golf club. As Tiger drove away, she struck the vehicle several times with the club," TMZ claimed.

TMZ said Woods was distracted, causing the crash.

The National Enquirer said Ms Uchitel and lawyers for Woods vehemently denied allegations of an affair.
