After teasing us with release dates for first the Japanese then the European versions of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, North Americans finally have a date as well. Konami has announced that Peace Walker will be out in May, two days before it arrives in Europe.
Touted as a "full-scale sequel" to Metal Gear Solid 3, Peace Walker takes place in Costa Rica circa 1974. The story is meant to serve as a bridge between the origins of Big Boss depicted in Snake Eater, and his role as mastermind behind Outer Heaven in the original game.
Peace Walker had a fairly impressive debut at Tokyo Game Show, and was mainly praised for its revamped controls. If you want to try it for yourself, you can find it here in Japanese.
Look for it May 25 on the PSP.
