Music retailer Amazon has accidentally shipped around 500 copies of Lil Wayne's Rebirth album two months before its official release, reports claim.
According to Billboard, a number of customers who pre-ordered the record received copies from the online merchant earlier this week, despite the release date being postponed until February 1.
Although Universal Music Group Distribution recalled the album, around one million units have apparently already been manufactured and one-third shipped to accounts.
Amazon was reportedly told to return the LP, but has allegedly already sent out 500 copies to customers in the US. The online retailer is yet to comment.
Lil Wayne's previous album Tha Carter III sold over one million units in its first week of release in June 2008.
