Yet another big fight has been added to Dynamite!! 2009, as Dream, World Victory Road and K-1 announced that Melvin Manhoef will face Kazuo Misaki at the event.
The 33 year old Manhoef, who recently signed with Strikeforce, reached the semifinal round of the 2008 DREAM Middleweight (185 pounds) Grand Prix tournament by scoring first round TKOs on Dae Won Kim and legendary champion Kazushi Sakuraba on May 11, 2008 and June 15, 2008 respectfully.

Asked on short notice to serve as a replacement in a heavyweight matchup with knockout artist Mark Hunt at last year's "Dynamite" event, Manhoef obliged and, despite being at a tremendous weight disadvantage, crushed the Samoan fighter with an onslaught of punches a mere 18 seconds after the opening bell rang. He last fought at DREAM.10, where he suffered a first round submission loss to Paulo Filho last July.

Misaki last fought at Sengoku “Ninth Battle” last August, where the middleweight scored a submission victory over Kazuhiro Nakamura. He also holds notable victories over Dan Henderson, and Denis Kang.

The HDNet-televised broadcast of the event will air live in North America beginning at 3AM ET/Midnight PT on December 31st and will feature a hybrid of MMA and K-1 bouts.

The fights will be jumping off inside the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

Other MMA bouts include Japanese gold-medalist judoka Satoshi Ishii taking on fellow Olympic gold-medalist Hidehiko Yoshida, as well as the finals of DREAM “Super Hulk” tourney between Ikuhisa “Minowaman” Minowa and Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou.
