Once again the fans in attendance didn’t agree with the judge’s scorecards but UFC President Dana White thinks the three judges got the scores right this time. When asked about how he saw the fight with the 10-point must system versus the fight as a whole, “I think Rashad [Evans] won the fight either way.”
Even though the fight was extremely close, Evans’ takedowns and Octagon control won him the first two rounds but he was in serious trouble towards the end of the final round.
“I think Thiago [Silva] could’ve finished him in that round but he gassed out,” White said of Silva’s third round performance.
All three judges gave Evans the nod with a 29-28 score which means they all saw Evans taking the first two rounds and Silva winning the final round.
Either way, Evans added another win to his total and has paved the way for a showdown with Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in his next bout.
