Last night's 3 hour special edition of TNA Impact, featuring the debut of Hulk Hogan, finished with a 1.5 cable rating. We should have a breakdown of the quarter hours when that information becomes available.

Update:
Multichannel News has an article on last night's wrestling ratings, noting that TNA Impact on Spike TV set a viewership record with 2.2 million viewers. The show easily replaced the company's former high mark of 1.9 million viewers Impact set in April 2008. The first hour of the show did 2.5 million viewers.

I don't understand it at all! WWE's show sucked last night, but they got a 3.3 rating. It's not fucking possible! I think Vince bribed some people.

UPDATE: TNA iMPACT! did a 1.5 rating as previously reported. The show did hours of 1.7, 1.4 and 1.2. TNA was very happy with the numbers, even though it isn't good that they dropped from hour to hour. But that was expected.

After the segment with Hogan, Hall, Waltman, Nash and Bischoff there was a significant drop in the numbers, as many people turned into RAW.

At this point it seems like a lock that TNA will run Monday nights again due to the strong rating they drew last night and the buzz that TNA now has. It could be very good for the business to have TNA air Monday nights and TNA on Mondays may become permanent.

ORIGINAL: - TNA iMPACT! drew a 1.5 rating with 2.2 million viewers, easily a new ratings record for TNA. iMPACT! peaked with 2.9 million viewers for the 9PM to 9:15PM ET segment which featured Hulk Hogan. That segment went head to head with Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels on RAW. TNA's previous record high rating was a 1.33 with 1.97 million viewers, so Monday night's rating beat their record by over 200,000 viewers.

I wanted TNA to win in rating but I didnt think that they would get much because of the Bret Hart thing on Raw but Impact did better than I thought they would. Impact was the better show and they proved that they can hang with the big dogs. If wwe werent so lucky as to geting Bret Hart to come back at the exat time they were going head to head with TNA then TNA might have done even better.

I saw the last 20 seconds of RAW (after TNA ended). The rest of the time I was glued to Spike tv. I thought it was a pretty good show overall. Quite a few gliches, quite a promo errors but hey, it was a great start.

3.3 is an average rating for RAW. They hoped for at least a 4.0 and it didn't happen. People tune in to WWE because it is WWE and it is more well known. I'm definitely happy for TNA. They finally hit the 1.5. I hope they decide to go head-to-head on Monday again soon. :)

Who are you talking to? Me? Try using quotes next time. Where are you getting 5.5? The show finished with a peak of 3.6. So they didn't even break a 4.0 like WWE officials expected. While TNA, only being 8 years old, being up against RAW, received their highest rating ever, a 1.5. So if going against the competition garners them more attention and ratings, why not do it again. It makes sense. So what's your problem?:punish:

yaY UR HIGHEST rating ever a 1.5 wow good for you, thats not touching raws numbers at all, if anything tna's numbers are gonna go down. basically being a tna fan is like competing in the special olympics at the end of the day ur still retarded

Lets see now. TNA was on for 3 hours. RAW was on for 2 hours. RAW receives a little over 3 million more viewers that TNA. You do do the math.

TNA put on an awesome show... I am impressed they got their highest ratings yet whilst going head to head with RAW, that is a good start for TNA.

RAW was horrendous, and I think their ratings would have beel lower, if it had not been for Vince promising to put one heck of a show on, so everyone tunes in for it, only to be disappointed, with the only highlight being to see Bret again.
