A man declared dead after being hit by a car woke up when coroners began his autopsy.
Manas Deo, 44, was injured after being run over on Christmas Day.
Doctors signed his death certificate after finding no pulse.
"It was a surprise for the hospital staff and family members when he woke up," said poice in eastern Jajpur. He is now recovering.
