A BRITISH bride says her wedding day was ruined when the photographer turned out to be a transsexual, The Sun reported on Thursday (GMT).

Melanie Vaughan, 34, said she hired the male photographer, Dave Stonestreet, after finding him on the internet.

Vaughan said she was stunned when he turned up wearing a long skirt, make-up and nail polish - and calling himself Kate.

The mother-of-four said: "It was like something out of Little Britain. You could hear a pin drop when he, or she, walked in. I'm open-minded but he looked ridiculous.

"The kids thought it was hilarious but the adults didn't know where to look.

"It was one of the most embarrassing things I have ever known. It ruined the wedding. He told my mum he had been diagnosed as transgender."

Vaughan, who wed her husband Anthony, 34, in Brighton, said the photographer told her it was the first time he had dressed as a woman.

The photographer, who previously worked as a Ricky Gervais lookalike, caused such a stir the best man made a gag about it.

Vaughan added: "What's even worse is I'm not happy with the photos.

"He sent me 200-odd pictures with black lines through them so we couldn't get them printed, but they're very amateurish. Our friends took better shots."

Stonestreet told The Sun he asked Vaughan if it was okay for him to go dressed as a woman and "she said it wouldn't be a problem."

Sounds like a transvestite not a transsexual.

Nah... a transvestite is a woman with a male part or vice versa... that guy's just a cross dresser...

Actually a transvestite is a cross-dresser. And a transsexual is someone who identifies themselves as the opposite sex, so he falls under both categories. They both can undergo procedures to "gain the necessary parts" but it's not necessary in order to be a transvestite, or a transsexual.

So... glad we got that cleared up. :p
