After a 6 month absence, IWA Mid South is proud to announce we will be returning to Bellevue at the Bellevue Plaza on February 19th.

MAIN EVENT - FOR THE IWA MID SOUTH WORLD LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Jason Hades defends vs the winner of the six man elimination match

A few things are certain about Jason Hades. One is that he has been a proud IWA Mid South World Light Heavyweight Champion. Another thing is that he has a lot on his shoulders, now being the only title holder in the company. Certainly pressure of being considered "THE top guy" in IWA is a lot to handle. With that said, IWA has given Hades some leeway, as he was unable to make the last event in Litchfield (where he was scheduled to defend his title) and, although he did not call before the event, the company accepted his apology. With that event in the past, we look forward to the future, where on February 19th, Hades will defend that title against the winner of this six man elimination bout. If successful, Hades then has Shane Hollister in his sights, who also has a guaranteed shot at that very title.

SIX MAN ELIMINATION MATCH
Winner receives a shot that night at the IWA Mid South World Lightheavyweight Championship
Featuring: Sal Thomaselli, Ryan Phoenix, the returning Jaysin Strife, Markus Crane, Ashton Vuitton, & Joey Marx

Sal Thomaselli has been a staple of IWA Mid South over the years. A former Tag Team Champion, Sal has since struck out on his own and in 2010, he plans to firmly make a name for himself as a singles competitor. Thomaselli plans to fight to retain his spot (and get the one he wants) by going into any circumstance it will take to be crowned a champion. His first step on this week of events will be this contest, as Sal hopes to secure a shot at the IWA Mid South World Light Heavyweight Championship.

Ryan Phoenix, the hometown hero in Bellevue, has had many hard-fought matches in IWA Mid South, especially in front of his faithful Bellevue fans. Ryan epitomizes heart and passion for IWA Mid South, and looks to score a big victory in this match, no matter how many competitors stand in his way.

Jaysin Strife has done a lot since we last saw him at the 2008 Ted Petty Invitational. The thing we must fear most, though, is that his bitterness has reached dangerous proportions. After being driven out of IWA Mid South for one year by then-World Heavyweight Champion Dingo, Strife has seen Dingo vacate the title due to injury, thus nullifying any plans Strife had for revenge on the former champion. In addition, Jaysin's exclusion from IWA Mid South's return past his one year banning is something he takes very personally, and on February 19th, he plans to show everyone what he's become and what they have been missing.

Markus Crane has had some impressive matches since November for IWA Mid South, and he will bring his intense, twisted nature to this battle of light heavyweights. A trainee of Chris Hero, Crane is dangerous, unpredictable, and completely unconcerned with his own health. His kamikaze style of wrestling will be his best bet in this match.

Ashton Vuitton, a male model by day, is a young and hungry up-and-comer who is looking to make a big name quick in IWA Mid South. The athletic Vuitton keeps himself in tip-top shape all week long, and his stamina will be a key factor in him surviving past five other opponents before potentially meeting Jason Hades later that night.

Joey Marx, who has competed for promotions like VWAA & GALLI, brings his lucha libre-influenced skills to IWA Mid South. He will be stepping onto a big stage with some core members of the IWA Mid South roster, and if he can survive against them, then he will be able to stake his claim as a worthy competitor early into his career.

Only one person can walk out as the winner of this match to face Hades for the title later that night. It has been proven in the past that, on any given night, anyone can make a HUGE name for themselves, steal the show, and win against any other competitor. For some of the less-tenured men in this match, if they can survive against five other opponents AND defeat the two-time champion Jason Hades, they will have proven their worth on this night and have earned their spot in the record books.

IWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE TOURNAMENT MATCH
Prince Mustafa Ali vs "The Psycho Shooter" Drake Younger

When the IWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament was announced, two names on nearly everyone's ballot to be included as participants were Prince Ali and Drake Younger. Based on that, IWA Mid South will deliver it! However, the attitudes of these two choices could not be any more different. The brash nature of Prince Ali contrasted by the humility of Drake Younger could prove to be the difference in the outcome of this match between two incredibly talented wrestlers, both looking to claim their first IWA World Heavyweight Championship, and move to the 2nd round of the tournament.

NO COUNT OUT, NO DQ
Dixieland Destroyer vs Ian Rotten

The first of three trials over the week to judge who is the better man will take place in Bellevue. Ian Rotten and the massive Dixieland Destroyer have faced off three times so far, and both are set to duplicate that feat again. While count outs and disqualifications have recently been re-instated in IWA Mid South, in this match, they have been thrown right back out the window! With the lengths both have gone to so far in their feud, this match is sure to be the bloodbath that Bellevue has come to expect!

JUST ADDED

Jon Moxley vs JC Bailey

Moxley has a full schedule this week in February, and he starts it off against former IWA Mid South World Light Heavyweight Champion JC Bailey. These men are similarly dangerous in the ring -- both in mind and body -- and they look to start off 2010 with a bang!
