On Monday night TNA iMPACT with the likes of Sting, RVD, AJ Styles, Ric Flair, Abyss and many others put out a show stopper for the second straight week in a row.
AJ Styles came out with Ric Flair by his side, and once inside the ring AJ got on the mic and put down the Monster Abyss miserably, and tells Abyss that much like the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus, he does not believe in magical rings. I feel that AJ is on to something with that statement. I mean seriously Abyss needs to believe in himself and be the monster everyone knows him to be, he didn't used to be afraid of anyone or anything, and he never needed to count on a "ring" for courage or to defeat his opponents for that matter. After AJ got done berating Abyss Ric got on the mic and rambled on for what seemed like an eternity. Finally Jeff Hardy came out to a standing ovation from the fans inside the iMPACT Zone to get Flair to shut up, but AJ got in his face, and eventually a match was made for later in the night. When the they left the ring, everyone's attention was turned to the screen as Mick Foley and Eric Bischoff were talkin to each other. Foley apologized to Eric for messin up the following week, but Eric wanted nothing to do with Foleys apology, and told him that night he will shave Micks head and beard. Honestly, I feel that Mick really does need a serious haircut and beard trim I mean he's had that look for as long as I've been watching wrestling, and sometimes change is good, and I'd love to see what Mick Foley would look like without all of that hair, and his beard as well! We were then takin out to the backstage area where we see the Nasty Boys beating up Jesse Neal and we watched as they threw him through a table that had catered food on it. It was funny seein all that food whind up on Jesse as he went through the table. Finally a real match happened it was a six man tag team match, with the Nasty Boys vs Team 3D, however due to the Nasty Boys taking out Jesse Neal they thought it was gonna be a handicaop match, but Brother Ray told everyone that wasn't the case, and the next thing we know Brother Runt comes running down the entrance ramp. The six man tag match was back on!! Brother Ray, Brother Devon, and Brother Runt had the upperhand the majority of the match, but Saggs who got a helmet tossed to him by Jimmy Heart used it on Brother Ray, and Jimmy Heart got the pin and the win for the Nasty Boys. However, after the match, Jesse Neal ran out with his ribs taped to make the save. To get back at the Nasty Boys Jesse and Team 3D put Saggs through a table usin the 3D powerbomb. Over all it was a really good match, it's been a long time since I've seen Team 3D wrestle, and I was happy to see them in the ring. Hopefully Team 3D will be back full time now. After the six man tag Angelina Love was in the back being interviewed by SoCal Val. Basically Angelina talked about how it sucked that she and Tara lost their match to the beautiful people the previous week, and issued an open challenge to any member of the Beautiful People, especially Velvet Sky. Angelina proceeded to call all of them rip offs of her since she was the original, and that she thought that she may need to go on her own quest to take out the trash one beautiful person at a time. Overall I thought her promo was really good, especially when she turned the Beautiful People's catch phrase around. We then see Jeremy Borash interviewing The Band saying that their match at the Destination X PPV against Big Sexy Kevin Nash and Eric Young is official. Out of nowhere Nash and Young walk up, and mention to Hall how much he likes money, and proceeded to offer him $25K if Hall could last five minutes in the ring against Kevin Nash. Of course Hall accepted the challenge, I mean what idiot wouldn't accept a challenge like that, hell I would!! Up next was a tag match between Kurt Angle and D'Angelo Dinero vs Desmond Wolfe and Mr. Anderson. First person in was Kurt Angle vs Desmond Wolfe due to the fact that Dinero still has a hurt ankle due to AJ Styles and Ric Flair slammin a chair on it, Kurt got the upper hand, but Desmond Wolfe slammed Kurt's arm down when he did a reverse arm bar and dropped Kurt on his shoulder. Kurt then tagged in Dinero, and Wolfe tagged in Mr. Anderson. Dinero and Mr. Anderson went right at each other, when Mr. Anderson went to pin Dinero Kurt got him from behind and took out Mr. Anderson. Desmond Wolfe then went to pin the Pope, but the Pope got a small package on him and got the pin and win for him and Kurt Angle. After the match, The Pope and Desmond Wolfe fought up the ramp, and out of the iMPACT Zone, meanwhile in the ring, Mr. Anderson lays out Kurt and then uses Kurt's warrior tag that a soldier had given him in Texas, and cut open Kurts head with it. Mr. Anderson then told Kurt that, that was just a small taste of what was to come at the Destination X PPV. I felt that the match seemed rushed in some ways, but overall it was a good match. I can't wait to see Kurt reaction this Sunday Night at the Destination X PPV, and what he does to Mr. Anderson for disrespecting not only him, but the soldier's warrior medal as well! We are taken to Hulk Hogans office where he is talking to RVD and Jeff Hardy. Hogan announced that Abyss would be the special enforcer for Jeff Hardy's match against AJ Styles later that
night. Hogan then tells RVD that he has something special in store for him. After RVD and Jeff Hardy leave Hulks office, we see Eric Bischoff come in, and he talks about the Surprises that happened the previous Monday, and says that he wished that Hogan had told him about the surprises. I could feel the tension between Hogan and Bischoff and I have a feeling that something is gonna happen between them, I don't know what is gonna happen, but something sure is, I can feel it!! We are takin back out to the ring where Angelina Love came out for her match, and all three members of the Beautiful People came out as well, but they introduced a new member of the group, for one night only, and as her music began to play, Daffney climbs into the ring behind Angelina and attacks her. Daffney climbed out of the ring, and lifted up the ring apron and picked up a tool box from underneath the ring, and takes out a pair of pliers, and a wrench, but tosses them aside, she then picks up a hammer, seamed satisfied with her choice, climbed back into the ring, went to use the hammer on Angelina Love, but the ref stopped her. Velvet, Madison, and Lacey all got involved which led to Angelina winning by disqualification. After she was announced the winner all four of them started to attack Angelina after the match. Daffney climbs out of the ring and walks up the entrance ramp to get the ugle stick, but the ref once again tried to stop her. Tara then jumps over the metal barrier, and proceeds to lay out the Beautiful People, before staring down Daffney. I honestly don't feel that this angle between Angelina and the Beautiful People is gonna go anywhere. However I can't wait to see where things go with Tara and Daffney! Right after that match, Kevin Nash vs. Scott Hall was up next in the five minute challenge. Kevin Nash got the upperhand at first, but then Scott Hall takes some cheap shots, and Waltman comes out with handcuffs and The Band proceed to handcuff Nash to the ropes, and but their boots to him. Eric Young then comes out for the save, and has the upperhand for a brief moment, but Hall and Pac beat him down, and then take the $25K and leave the ring laughing. I know that Kevin and Eric are gonna have a lot to say and do to The Band come this Sunday at the Destination X PPV, I can't wait!!! After they all leave the ring Hogan comes out and says that he can't get the image out of head of Abyss saying 'why sting why' and Hogan wants answers from Sting. Sting makes his way down out of the rafters slowly andd when he was about to aproach Hogan Van Dam jumps him and Van Dam beats Sting up as they fight around the ring. Van Dam rolls Sting into the ring and Van Dam throws Hogan the bat. Bischoff comes out with security and wants to know what Hogan is doing. Bischoff had security escort Sting out of the ring. Bischoff then calls out Hogan on saying that he won't wrestle and how he is supposed to be leading the company. Hogan gives no response and Eric leaves the ring. I love Sting to death, and am totally loving his new heel role, and I can't wait to see how all of this goes down between Sting, Hogan, RVD, and Bischoff!! Meanwhile Hernandez and Jeff Jarrett are seen backstage. Hernandez tells Jeff that he will help him take on Beer Money in a match tonight. Eric Bischoff overhears them and interrupts the conversation saying that will not happen. Eric says that Hernandez will face Beer Money in a handicap match with Jarrett as the referee. Eric then tells Jarrett to call it right down the middle.
Up next is Beer Money vs. Hernandez. Beer Money tried to get the upperhand on Hernandez, but Hernandez battled back and suplexed both of them at the same time, but then Beer Money got the upperhand and defeated Hernandez with the DWI. During the match, Matt Morgan came out and was on commentary but left before the end of the match. After the match, Beer Money attacked Jarrett and were posing to the crowd until Jarrett made a comeback and Hernandez joined Jarrett and took care of Beer Money. I honestly feel that Jarrett isn't gonna take much more of Eric Bischoff's shenanigans, and is gonna totally annialate him, and I also feel that Eric Bischoff has way to much power right now, and someone needs to knock him down about a notch or two....I have a feeling that Jeff Jarrett and Mick Foley are just the men to do it!!
Eric Bischoff then comes out for the grooming of Mick Foley. They have a barber chair in the ring. Eric proceeds to call out Foley. Foley makes his way out slowly and sits down in the chair. As Eric goes to shave Foley, Foley stops Eric and hits him with Mr. Socko. Foley puts Bischoff in the chair and shaves Eric’s head. I absolutely loved this scene, it kinda reminded me of when Vince McMahon got his head shaved by Donald Trump, totally funny segment!
The Ultimate X structure is being brought out to hype the Ultimate X match at the Destination X pay per view.
The Motor City Machine Guns come out. Chris Sabin takes a mic and says that Destination X will be a night to remember. Not only is it the return of Ultimate X with the winner becoming the Number One Contenders to the TNA World Tag Titles, but it will be the start to the Motor City Era. Sabin calls out Generation Me for coming into their turf and asks who they have beaten. Generation Me comes out and reminds Sabin that they beat the Machine Guns in their debut. Shelley says it was just luck and then says that Motor City is the Xbox while Generation Me are Ataris. He also says that they are the Ferraris to Generation Me’s station wagons. He says that they can keep talking about this or the time where the Guns got with Generation Me’s girlfriends. This leads to a brawl with all four men getting involved. Brian Kendrick comes out to save the Guns. Amazing Red comes out to take out Kendrick. Daniels comes out to take care of Red. Kazarian comes out with a ladder and hits Daniels with it. Generation Me do dives off the Ultimate X towers onto the guns. They set up the ladder and Red dives off the ladder onto Kendrick, Daniels, and the Guns on the outside. Red, Kazarian, and Generation Me pose together in the ring. When I saw Amazing Red dive off the ladder onto Kendrick, Daniels and the Guns, I thought to myself, that was truly awesome, and you'd never see that in the WWE!!
The Final match is between A.J. Styles and Jeff Hardy and it was a non-title match.
Jeff Hardy defeats TNA World Heavyweight Champion A.J. Styles with a Swanton. There was a ref bump about ten minutes into the match. After the referee was knocked out A.J. went for a springboard 450 but missed. Hardy hit the Twist of Fate and Swanton with Abyss making the three count. After the match, Flair hit Hardy with a chair. Flair went to hit Abyss and they started going up the ramp with Flair repeatedly trying to hit Abyss. They got to the end of the ramp and Abyss Hulked up and choke slammed Flair shoulder first through the ramp. Abyss then did the 'finger point of doom' towards Styles who was sitting in the corner of the ring holding the TNA World Heavyweight Title belt closely. That was a classic moment for me watchin Abyss take Flair and slam him through the entrance ramp, and seein AJ's face in the ring, while he was watchin on, and holdin his belt, it was like watchin a little kid holding onto his favorite stuffed animal or his blanket so that his mommy wouldn't wash it!! I can't wait to see what happens this Sunday at the Destination X PPV!! Overall this weeks iMPACT was exciting, and I loved every minute of it...I can't wait to see next Monday's iMPACT!!! I just wish that they wouldn't do so many backstage segments, it really takes away from the action in the ring, however overall I give it a 4 out of 5 stars!!!
