Injury Report: According to news postings on the NOAH & K-DOJO websites, respectively, Kensuke Office’s Katsuhiko Nakajima & K-DOJO’s Ryuichi Sekine will both miss events with undisclosed injuries. NOAH reports Nakajima is off the upcoming Spring Navigation ‘10 tour, while Sekine will miss DDT’s “Monthly Young Communication” show this Wednesday.

New Japan: The first participation for the upcoming Super J Tag Tournament has been announced:
From CMLL: Mascara Dorada & Valiente
From ROH: Davey Richards
From TNA: Consequences Creed
Independent/Freelancers: KUSHIDA
There is one other wrestler also announced who I don’t recognize.

The details: It’s a one day, 8 team tournament. All matches are 1 fall with no time limit. The winning team will win 5 million yen ($52,877 US based on today’s conversion rate, so around $52,000).

The tournament is set for 5/8 at JCB Hall.

Koji Kanemoto update: His facial injuries will keep him out at least another month or two, so he’ll miss the Super J Tag Team Tournament.

The full card for 5/3 in Fukuoka has been announced:
Tiger Mask 4, Tomoaki Honma & AKIRA vs. Takashi Iizuka, Tomohiro Ishii & Gedo
Manabu Nakanishi vs. King Fale
CMLL World Middleweight Champion Negro Casas vs. Jushin Liger for the title
IWGP Heavyweight tag Team Champions Tetsuya Naito & Yujiro Takahashi vs. Wataru Inoue & Yuji Nagata vs. Giant Bernard & Karl Anderson in a 3-way for the titles
Hirooki Goto vs. Masato Tanaka
IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion Naomichi Marufuji vs. Ryusuke Taguchi for the title
Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Toru Yano
IWGP Heavyweight Champion Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Makabe for the title

All-Japan: Keiji Muto had successful right knee surgery today. He’s missed a couple weeks already due to the injury. No return date set.

The promotion announced it’s annual Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Tournament over the weekend. Scheduled to run 4/18-4/29, the tournament will be held in a round robin format with all matches under PWF Rules: 30 minute time limit, 2 points for win, 1 point for time limit draw, 0 points for loss or everything else. The top 2 teams advance to the finals on 4/29 at Korakuen. If there’s a tie, a tiebreaker match will be held. Participating teams TBA. The defending tournament champions are Minoru & Toshizo.

It appears that NOSAWA Rongai is off the rest of the current tour effective immediately. This doesn’t appear to be injury-related, my translation suggests what some would call “AWOL”. It appears he’ll be out until at least Sunday. More when/if it becomes available. The tour cards will be accordingly modified.

NOAH: New KENTA Column (#23), which appears to be on a trip to the USA for WrestleMania:

When perceived, so it became infrequent.Because it concentrated on the sumo wrestling separately too much, is not.As for dream just 15 days deciding the [tsu] [te], the [ru] it is with.Because and foreign ozeki was born separately, is not.Thinking, that already it internationalized, it increases, the sumo wrestling it is with. When – what it has done it is! Keith Walker comments on his apparently not being entered in the Global Tag League with new partner Bison Smith:

You heard that “global league game” is held, but as for the bison although entry it is done, why I am not done entry, it is?
Entry it is not done in league game, if is, my target simply one, is GHC tag title.
Me and the bison just formed as a tag team, can deny no one that it is preponderant power and the strongest tag team where team power is provided.
In order that we pulverized two people of the GHC tag champion team release in January, doing, is, the fact that we is a qualification to title game is the fact which is not either the complications.
Is there a courage which receives our challenge to the champion team?
Until you say, there is no result and probably becomes the first step to our victories and long-term title administration.

Kith Walker

It should be noted that Walker will get his wish. He & Bison Smith will face GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Takeshi Rikioh & Mohammed Yone for the titles on 4/14 at Osaka Prefectural Gym #2.
