Amanda Holden has claimed that she has more "empathy" for Britain's Got Talent contestants than her fellow judges.

The TV actress, 39, said that she doesn't like being called an "easy touch", but admitted that she is always keen to give auditionees a fair shot.

"Although I don't like to be thought of as an easy touch, I do have more sympathy and think a little bit more about pressing my buzzer than the other two," she told the show's official website.

"I hate it when someone drops something or tells a joke that isn't funny and within seconds they both buzz. I just think, 'Hang on a second. Let this person find their way and then we'll see'. I do have more empathy."

Britain's Got Talent returns on Saturday at 8pm on ITV1.
