Russell Brand's father is reportedly happy his son has found a woman to settle down with.
Ron Brand went through a 'messy split' with the comic's mother Barbara when he was young and has not been invited to his son's 'intimate wedding' with Katie Perry, reports the News Of The World.
Despite the snub, a friend said the 66-year-old is respectful of the situation.
"The split happened a long time ago but there is still tension there. Russell's very close to his mum. He hates seeing her upset. To be fair Ron takes full blame for the split.
"He respects Russell's wishes and never wants to cause him any grief. He's glad he's found the woman he wants to settle down with. Of course he would like to see his son get married but he is respectful of the situation," said the source.
Brand, 34, and Perry, 25, are flying guests to a secret location for the autumn ceremony.
