ThunderCats writer Stephen Perry has gone missing in suspicious circumstances.
The 56-year-old cartoon and comics writer has disappeared from his home in Zephyrhills, Florida, reports the St Petersburg Times.
His van was found abandoned in a motel parking lot, with a severed arm nearby. Other body parts were discovered in a petrol station dumpster two miles from Perry's home.
Perry's two flatmates, who had also been missing since last week, have been arrested on charges including trafficking of controlled substances, violation of parole and burglary.
Police have so far avoided referring to the case as a homicide investigation.
Perry's struggle with bladder cancer and financial difficulties in recent months have been highlighted by the Hero Initiative charity, from which the writer has received support.
