Dannii Minogue has dismissed claims that partner Kris Smith recently revealed the sex of their first child.
Earlier this month, a comment that Smith made at a charity event in Australia sparked speculation that Minogue is expecting a baby girl.
The former rugby player was quoted as saying: "There's been a few sleepless nights but it will be all worth it to see her beautiful little face."
However, in an interview with the Herald Sun, Minogue explained that Australian reporters had misunderstood Smith due to his Mancunian accent.
The X Factor judge commented: "He didn't say anything about the gender. It was just his accent. He's upset people still don't understand him! We laugh about how much people want to know what sex it is. They won't have to wait too long."
Minogue is expected to give birth in July.
