Dizzee Rascal and James Corden are reportedly planning to cover a 1980s song as an unofficial World Cup single for this summer's tournament in South Africa.

According to The Sun, the collaboration has been planned by X Factor boss Simon Cowell.

Dizzee told the newspaper: "I'm going down to South Africa to spread some love. I think we can win the World Cup and I'm doing my bit."

A source added: "Simon got in touch with Dizzee with the idea. He really admires how Dizzee has gone from hardcore rapper to chart-topping hit maker.

"To say Dizzee was surprised to hear from him is an understatement. But they really hit it off. Simon is supervising the project and suggested that Dizzee should share some vocals with James.

"They've taken a huge hit from the '80s and brought it bang up to date. It's bound to be huge."
