The latest update from sources is that there no longer seems to be any problems between Rey Mysterio and WWE management, as Mysterio is said to be happy with his current position within the company. There was also a rumor that Mysterio's contract would be expiring soon, but this has been proven to not be true, as he has almost five years left on his current deal. There is also a clause in Mysterio's contract that would allow him to retire from active competition in less than five years, but only if his body is not in good enough shape to continue. If this were to happen, then WWE would retain all of Mysterio's in-ring rights.
Mysterio has also said that while his knee is still bothering him, he is not planning to take any time off.
