A Georgian crime boss was re-arrested in Spain Sunday, five days after he was released from custody by a Spanish court, the website of the newspaper El Mundo said in an unsourced report.
Kalashov, considered by authorities as one of the main leaders of the Eastern European mafia, is wanted in his home country and El Mundo said he was detained in response to an extradition request.
He was found guilty of money laundering last week but the court ordered his release on the grounds that he qualified for parole because of the time he spent in detention awaiting trial.
No police or judicial authorities were immediately available to confirm his rearrest.
