Kerry Katona has said that she would never hurt her children.
The former Atomic Kitten star told OK that she struggled to recognise herself on recent Channel 4 documentary Kerry & Me, where she was filmed screaming "shut your face or I’ll knock you out" at her 8-year-old daughter Molly.
Katona said: "I was so unwell at the time and in such a bad place in my life. I don't even know who that woman was - it's so far away from the person I am now.
"Even so, I know it was still me and that I have to take responsibility for that. My kids are my number one priority. I want a better life for them.
"I would never hurt them in any way because they’re my life and they really are the most amazing kids anyone could wish for."
She added: "I have got my second chance. I’m not going to let anything happen ever again and I'm never looking back.
"After being at rock bottom I've made some major changes in my life. I'm doing what is best for my children and me, and I'm back in control of my life.
"I only hope that some good came out of that show for other people and that watching it will help anyone going through depression, addiction, a break-up (or anything else I went through), so that they can turn their life around in the same way that I have."
