For those of you who don't follow sports, one of the biggest stories this week concerns basketball
megastar Lebron James. James, an unrestricted free agent, is going to announce which NBA team he will be signing with this week. The story has become a mega-hype machine, to the point that ESPN is going to devote a live one-hour special to him making his decision tonight.
Well, the folks at Evolve have decided to have some fun with the Lebron story and put their own twist on it as a way to hype Bryan Danielson's upcoming debut with the company. They released the following today:
The Decision: Bryan Danielson Takes Page From Lebron James
Pro wrestling's hottest free agent is Bryan Danielson (formerly Daniel Bryan in WWE). He was given the option weeks ago to hand pick his opponent for his EVOLVE debut on July 23rd in Union City, NJ at The Ace Arena. Speculation has run wild as to who Danielson will choose. We have learned that Danielson will announce his decision at www.EVOLVEwrestling.com this Monday at 9pm. There are negotiations now for a simulcast on ESPN. This would also mark the return of the Monday Night War, as the Danielson ESPN special will coincide with the start of Raw. Who will Danielson pick? Only he knows. We will all find out this Monday at 9pm EST at EVOLVEwrestling site.
Tickets for "EVOLVE 4: Danielson vs. TBA" on July 23rd and EVOLVE 5 in Rahway, NJ are now on sale.
I'm not expecting the simulcast on ESPN, but this release just cracked me up. Fun way to hype the show, for sure.
