Robert De Niro has reached out to Mel Gibson, hoping that he "gets through all this".
The Braveheart star is being investigated by police in Los Angeles after he was accused of being violent towards his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva in January.
The police began their investigation after a recording was published by TMZ in which Gibson can reportedly be heard using racist language during an argument with Grigorieva.
According to WENN, the 54-year-old has also been dropped by his talent agency William Morris Endeavor Entertainment.
De Niro said: "I hope he gets through all this. It's unfortunate for him."
