Welcome to MMAjunkie.com's live coverage of tonight's Strikeforce Challengers 9 event.

Today's event takes place at the Comcast Arena of Everett in Washington state and airs on Showtime.

Headlining tonight's show is a heavyweight bout between top prospects Shane Del Rosario and Lolohea Mahe. Additionally, hard-hitting champion Sarah Kaufman puts her women's welterweight belt on the line against ground specialist Roxanne Modafferi in the night's co-headliner.

THOMAS DIAGNE VS. CAROS FODOR

Round 1 - Diagne takes the center and jabs, but Fodor pushes forward with his own punches and moves into the clinch. They break, and a left staggers Diagne. He drops to a knee and pops back up, but another Fodor hook puts him down again. Diagne again works back to his feet and into the clinch. Fodor pushes his opponent against the cage and delivers several short knees inside to the thigh. Diagne seems to have recovered, and he fires back with a few knees. The clinch is essentially a stalemate. Diagne tries to twist away, but Fodor controlling the action and remains in the clinch. Diagne finally spins away and takes the out side before slipping away. Spinning kick lands, but Fodor again just pushes in and into the clinch. Fodor drops briefly for a takedown, but Diagne defends. Another stalemate in the clinch, though Fodor is controlling the positioning until the bell. MMAjunkie.com sees the first for Fodor, 10-9.

Round 2 - Diagne's corner advises him to push between rounds, and Diagne does open up more aggressively. He lands a few short blows, but Fodor moves back into the clinch. Diagne pulls away, but Fodor chases with a few punches and clinches up. Short knees traded inside, but it's Fodor controlling the positioning and staying the busier fighter. Diagne simply can't create space. He spins off the cage briefly, but Diagne puts him right back where he was. The pair spins at the fence, but Diagne just can't get away and create room for his flashy strikes. Diagne finally pulls away and fires a leaping knee and a high kick. Fodor just walks through it and clinches. Fodor drops and elevates his opponent for a big slam and moves easily into side control. Diagne scrambles to his knees, but Fodor stays tight and teases a Peruvian necktie before sliding to the back. Diagne scrambles up but catches a knee and moves back tot he floor. Fodor seizes the opportunity and works for a kimura. Diagne scrambles and rolls and somehow survives, but as the round closes, it's another Fodor round on the MMAjunkie.com card, 10-9.

Round 3 - Quick clinch for Fodor again, though Diagne pulls away. Nevertheless, Fodor just pushes right back into the clinch. Referee calls for action, and Diagne slips away. Spinning hook kick short for Diagne, though a crescent kick scores. Fodor looks briefly staggered, but he just pushes in again. Diagne pulls away and lands a few low kicks, but Fodor back into his preferred position. Quick takedown, and Fodor is on top and out to the side in half-mount. Fodor locks up a kimura grip on Diagne's left arm as he slides to slide control, but he doesn't control the head and Diagne rolls with it. Fodor tries to crank it, but Diagne fights through it and frees his arm. He stands, but Fodor just smothering in his attack. Back to the ground and into north-south. Diagne turtling a bit as he eats a few hammerfists. Diagne just absolutely unable to create anything. Fodor controls from the top as a few short punches rain down. Diagne tries to roll, scramble, anything. It's not there, and Fodor throws punches from the top. Final scramble, but this is all Fodor, 10-9 in the third and 30-27 in the fight. Caros Fedor def. Thomas Diagne via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

ABONGO HUMPHREY VS. MIKE KYLE

Round 1 - Humphrey takes the center, but Kyle lands the first 1-2. Kyle lands a right. Humphrey runs in for a shot, but Kyle just shrugs it off. Humphrey with a few low kicks, and he misses on a spinning shot. Humphrey moves into the clinch. Kyle lands a few knees inside. Humphrey backs away and lands a few shots in a flurry. Humphrey works a takedown, though Kyle tries to secure a guillotine choke on the left side. Humphrey slips his head out and lifts up in half-mount. Kyle sitting up against the fence, but he can't get up. Kyle instead pulls guard. Humphrey backs away and lands a right and tries to lock in a guillotine choke, but Kyle slips out. Kyle on his knees, and Humphrey tries again for the guillotine. Kyle defends and stands and launches a few flying knees. The second sees him off-balance, and he hits the floor. Humphrey lands a few punches from the top, but Kyle sweeps to the top. Kyle advances to mount, but Humphrey sweeps immediately and tries again for what he calls a "modified anaconda." The bell rings, and it's a good first round that MMAjunkie.com awards to Humphrey, 10-9.

Round 2 - Even standup to open. Short shots land from both. Kyle lands a crisp combination, and Humphrey pushes in. This time, Kyle stands him up and fires knees. One looks low, but now call. Humphrey hits the floor and Kyle postures, but Humphrey attacks the leg. Kyle drops to the floor and spins free, but Humphrey moves to top position. Kyle works closed guard underneath, and the referee calls for a standup after just a brief stall. Kyle slow to rise, but he pushes forward on the restart and gets his own takedown. Kyle takes the back and starts working for the rear-naked choke. Humphrey defends, so Kyle starts firing shots to the head. Humphrey in trouble, and Kyle is able to work in the rear-naked choke and force the tap. Mike Kyle def. Ron "Abongo" Humphrey via submission (rear-naked choke) - Round 2, 3:28.

CORY DEVELA VS. BOBBY VOELKER

Round 1 - Voelker moves in immediately into the bodylock. Devela defends well and spins off the cage. Voelker shows a good base, but Devela uses double underhooks to work Voelker to the floor. Devela is in mount with a solid base. Voelker bucks madly, but Devela wit a high mount and stays put. Devela kicks his leg up for a top-side arm bar, but pulls it back. Voelker kicks free in a scramble. Devela tries to grab a guillotine choke as they stand, but Voelker pulls free. Unfortunately, he's trapped again on the cage. Devela lands a knee inside and scores another takedown. Top position again for Devela though it's half-mount this time. Voelker with nothing underneath. Devela just relentless from the top. Voelker tries a guillotine choke, but it's only momentarily. Devela answers with his own guillotine from top then spins underneath while squeezing for the finish. It's not there, and Voelker is in his first good position of the fight. He just has a few seconds to use it before the bell, and Devela takes the round on the MMAjunkie.com card, 10-9.

Round 2 - Voelker looks to strike, but Devela clinches again and forces his opponent to the cage. Voelker defends the takedown briefly, but a second effort sees Devela on top. Voelker tries to scramble, and a sweep effort sees him take the top. Devela works his legs high, but Voelker safe for now. Devela kicks his legs high again, and he briefly locks in an armbar setup, but Voelker keeps his limbs safe. Voelker walks Devela to the cage, and he postures up to punch. Voelker not especially busy from the top. Devela works in the butterfly guard and tries to escape, but Voelker pushes back down immediately. Devela works his legs high again and tries to sit up against the fence. Voelker does a good job to keep his opponent pressed down, but that's all he is really doing. Devela spins and looks for the leg. Voelker spins away and pulls free before pressing back in. Devela finally works to his feet. Flurry from both, and Devela lands a stiff right at the bell. MMAjunkie.com sees the round for Devela as the busier fighter from the bottom, 10-9, though with Voelker in top position so much, don't be surprised if it goes the other way.

Round 3 - Devela closes the distance again. Stalemate as Voelker does a good job defending with his back to the cage.Short right inside from Devela as he backs away. Devela shoots in, but Voelker sprawls and lands a knee. Devela clinches in again, and he looks tired, but he remains relentless in his pursuit. Voelker stays up in the clinch and lands a few knees inside. Devela continues to look for the shot, but he really looks spent. However, he continues to push forward. Voelker lands a nice combination, though Devela answers with his own flurry. Good exchange, but Devela doesn't want this kind of fight and shoots in. Voelker pulls away and shoots in. Devela grabs a guillotine choke on the way down. Voelker pulls out, but he misses a great chance to take side control. Devela in guard, but they stand and fire. Both land in the closing seconds. Excellent action from two tired fighters in the third. MMAjunkie.com sees a much closer final round for Devela, 10-9, and the fight, 30-27, though a 29-28 would not be surprising. Bobby Voelker def. Cory Devela via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28).

CHAMP SARAH KAUFMAN VS. ROXANNE MODAFFERI

Round 1 - Modafferi immediately rushes in and the two clinch up. Kaufman secures a bodylock, though Modafferi spins in the clinch as they jockey for position. Both fighters scrambling in the clinch. Modafferi finally earns a trip, but Kaufman immediately backs up to the cage and works to a knee. Modafferi presses in and prevents Kaufman from escaping, and Kaufman is forced to pull guard. Kaufman tying up well from the bottom, and the referee calls for action before resetting the fight. Kaufman jabs on the restart. Modafferi misses a spinning kick, though she's able to work inside. Modafferi looks for the inside leg trip again, but Kaufman has her balance. Modafferi shoots, but Kaufman remains standing. Fight neutral in the clinch as time expires in the first. MMAjunkie.com sees it for Modafferi, 10-9.

Round 2 - More distance to start this frame. Kaufman works in straight shots. A flurry rocks Modafferi, though she shoots in. Kaufman just shrugs it off. Modafferi clinching again, but Kaufman looks stronger inside. Modafferi continues to look for the trip, but Kaufman pushes away and fires powerful shots up the middle. Modafferi jumps guard, but Kaufman presses against the cage and forces Modafferi to release. Modafferi again tries the trip, but Kaufman remains posted and stays on he feet. Knees traded inside. Kaufman grabs a Thai clinch and delivers the better shots. Modafferi answering back with a few shots. Body lock and Modafferi tries to trip but winds up on the bottom. They both pop up. Kaufman overpowering Modafferi in the clinch, though Modafferi continues to work for a good position. More knees from Kaufman. Kaufman pulls away and unleashes with left and right hands. Modafferi stays up, but the shots connected. Round ends, and MMAjunkie.com sees it for Kaufman, 10-9.

Round 3 - More distance to open, and Kaufman does land a few straight shots. Modafferi fires back and the fighters return to the familiar clinch. Modafferi earns another trip and she sets up on top. Kaufman with a closed guard underneath, and she's looking to stall from the bottom. Kaufman releases and tries to attack the leg, but Modafferi pulls free and works on passing the guard from her feet. Kaufman fires upkicks and creates enough space to stand. Kaufman in the clinch, and time is called to address some loose tape on Kaufman's glove. Modafferi leads with a Superman punch. Kaufman lands a 1-2. Jabs land, and a straight right connects. Modafferi shoots. Kaufman still up and presses Modafferi to the cage. Thai clinches from both. Traded knees inside. Modafferi pulls guard and hits the deck. Modafferi looks to attack the arm, but Kaufman elevates and drops her foe with a powerbomb. Modafferi is out in a stunning finish. Sarah Kaufman def. Roxanne Modafferi via knockout (slam) - Round 3, 4:45.

SHANE DEL ROSARIO VS. LOLOHEA MAHE

Round 1 - Del Rosario opens with a low kick. Del Rosario firing kicks and moving around, but Mahe does land a few straights. Del Rosario pushes into the clinch, and knees are traded inside. Del Rosario continues to press in, but it's a stalemate and they reset at the ref's request. Del Rosario kicks high on the restart. Mahe presses in. Knee inside from Del Rosario and he spins off the cage. Knee lands low from Del Rosario, and we have a break. Mahe doesn't need much of a rest, and they start again. Mahe lands a straight over a Del Rosario kick. Del Rosario with a low kick and a left hand. Mahe looks a little wobbled as he retreats. Del Rosario lands a high kick and pushes in. Del Rosario grabbing the cage as he knees. Another knee scores and here come the punches. Mahe is stunned and falls to the canvas as and covers up. Referee has seen enough, and the fight is called. Shane Del Rosario def. Lolohea Mahe via TKO (strikes) - Round 1, 3:48.
