Gabe Sapolsky has written a new blog at www.heymanhustle.com looking at realism within professional wrestling coming off the awesome Bryan Danielson vs. Bobby Fish match presented by EVOLVE last Saturday at the ECW Arena.

Speaking of that show, for those who asked, I'll be recording an audio about the DGUSA PPV over the weekend for Monday in the Elite section followed by a CHIKARA audio on Tuesday.

DGUSA has announced a new tryout and seminar for their 10/29 Fall River, MA event. If workers are looking for details,

Joshua Higham sent the following introductory profiles on some DGUSA performers:

So after a pretty great weekend of wrestling courtesy of Dragon Gate USA and Chikara, I wanted to look at a few of the guys that have risen to prominence on several rosters throughout independent wrestling. And with Gabe Sapolsky and his duties with two companies and his relationships with two others, there will be quite a bit of roster blending between these companies. These four aren’t the only ones that will blend those company lines, but they’re the first set of guys that I’m dubbing to be Gabe’s Guys.

Jon Moxley: Coming from Les Thatcher’s HWA school, he has recently made his splash in the east coast independents winning both the FIP World and CZW World Titles within the last six months. His time in Dragon Gate USA began by winning two pre-show bonus matches before becoming a protege to Brian Kendrick. He got involved in Kendrick’s feud with Jimmy Jacobs and challenged Tommy Dreamer to a hardcore match, which he won. He’s since become the American representative for Kamikaze USA, setting the trend for the other stables in DGUSA wanting an American voice. He’s the biggest of Gabe’s Guys, running 6’4” and 240 lbs. He’s solid on the mike, but I haven’t seen him wrestle enough to gauge his in-ring acumen.

Johnny Gargano: He’s the bee’s knees and the cat’s pajamas and the whole she-bang. He’s the newest member of the most dangerous trio in Chikara, Team FIST. He’s attempting to impress CIMA enough to get that spot of American representative for Warriors International. He’s the first American to be signed to a DGUSA contract and the host of the former Power Hour on Youtube. He’s arguably got the rocket strapped to him in prominent storylines in at least three promotions. A native from the Cleveland area, he is the current champion for PWO and has to be considered one of the favorites for Chikara’s Young Lion Cup Tournament late in August.

Jimmy Jacobs: He is the most prominent wrestler with the most time on the national stage. An ROH veteran with 4 Tag Championships and the spearhead of one of the most controversial angles in ROH history, he has run his course in Ring of Honor and decided to hang his hat in Evolve and Dragon Gate USA. From The Ballad of Lacey saving his spot in ROH to recent venture as the Abstract Wrestler, his skills for storytelling have either endeared him to the fans or pushed them away. Reinventing himself—from Jumping Jimmy Jacobs to Huss to the emo kid fighting for love—has allowed him to stay reasonably fresh, getting one of the biggest reactions at Evolve 1.

Chuck Taylor: The Kentucky Gentleman is the second third of Team FIST. He is undefeated in Evolve, holding a grudge that he wasn’t on the original roster. Having to qualify for a roster spot at Evolve 1, he’s been on the warpath eventually defeating Claudio Castagnoli and Jimmy Jacobs. He debuted at the most recent DGUSA event, winning the International Challenge Four Way that included Adam Cole, Drake Younger, and Ricochet. He is the only man to have won Chikara’s Young Lions Cup, Rey de Voladores and King of Trios.
