RAW Results - 2nd August 2010
Announcers - Michael Cole & Jerry "The King" Lawler

RAW Opener:

Edge says he really, really tried, but his gut tells him he needs to listen to himself. He says look what happened when he came back at the Royal Rumble when he listened to the fans. He says his Summerslam team is falling apart and he needs to start doing things his way. He agrees that Nexus needs to go down, but he wants it his way, and he wants Wade Barrett one on one tonight.

R-Truth comes out and isn't his normal self and gets ring to the ring and asks if Edge thinks fighting Barrett will work. He says it won't help, and he will listen to Truth right now. Truth asks Edge how many times in his life he had to fight for everything, and fight for the WWE and what they love. He tells Edge they do it together or Nexus wins, and he needs to stop thinking of himself and pull his head out of his rear end. Edge says that's Truth's version of the truth, but his is that he will cut the head off of the snake, and take out Barrett first. He tells Truth to get out of the ring, or he will spear him out of it right now.

Michael Cole gets a GM email and says Edge will get what he wants, and that match with Barrett will be right now. He tells Truth to get out of the ring and he does, but not before telling Edge he is on his own, and good luck...

Edge vs Wade Barrett

Barrett headbutts Edge, but gets whipped into the corner and pulled throat first on the ropes. Edge follows by slamming Barrett's head into the turnbuckle and hitting a spear in the corner, but only gets a two count. Barrett recovers and hits a big boot then sends Edge flying out of the ring and into the barricade. Barrett rolls him back in the ring and chokes him on the ropes until the ref calls for the break. He keeps Edge grounded into a rear choke until Edge fights out, and they double clothesline each other and are down on the mat. Edge hits a flying forearm then follows it with the Edge-O-Matic for a two, and then goes up to the top rope. Barrett cuts him off and goes for The Wasteland, but Edge counters into the Impaler DDT and he sets up for the spear. Barrett ducks the spear and jumps out of the ring to recover, and motions for Nexus to come out. As they run down the ramp Edge runs through the crowd to get out of harms way.

Result - No Contest

Edge is storming backstage looking for Cena, asking anyone who he sees, until he walks into Cena. Cena says he listened to Edge, and let him try to do it his way. Edge isn't hearing any of this, and says Cena will have to win at Summerslam without him, because Edge quits! Cena turns around to a smiling Chris Jericho, and he asks if Jericho is going to quit too. He says no, because it's his team, and Cena should quit because he is a problem just like Nexus. Jericho says they should have a match, and the loser quits the Summerslam team. Cena doesn't want to and tries to tell Jericho Nexus is laughing at them and they need to stick together. Jericho asks again and Cena says fine, they'll do it that way.

John Morrison is talking to Great Khali in the back, and he says if the seven don't stick together, they won't survive. Khali mentions the seven dwarfs, and Morrison says fine, have it your way, and good luck against Ted DiBiase tonight. Michael Tarver and David Otunga approach Khali and say they didn't attack him last week because they respect him. They say they heard if he loses his match, Cena might replace him on the team, and that's not respect. Tarver tells him if he wants to go where the respect is, their door is always open.

Six Women Tag Team Match
Gail Kim, Eve Torres & Natalya vs Jillian, Tamina & Alicia Fox

Jillian throws Gail by the hair then pulls her head back from behind and picks her up into a backbreaker for two. She tags in Alicia and she hits Gail with a bridging suplex for two, but gets knocked down by Gail and then Natalya tags in and hits some suplexes. Natalya holds the last for a pin but Tamina breaks it up, and all hell breaks loose. Gail dives over the top rope and hits a splash on Tamina, and Jillian whips her hard into the ring post. The other girls are fighting in the ring, and Natalya tries the Sharpshooter in the ring, but Tamina distracts her and Alicia hits the axe kick to get the win.

Winners - Jillian, Tamina & Alicia Fox

After the bell, Alicia says this is the greatest reign in Divas history, and she has beaten all of them, and no one can compare to her. She gets interrupting by the returning Melina and she runs out of the ring, but Jillian throws her back in and Melina hits an inverted DDT. She follows it with the Sunset Split and screams "I'm Back!" and she slams Alicia to the canvas.

Sheamus vs Goldust

Sheamus slaps Goldust, but Goldust unloads on him and goes to hit a low punch but Sheamus hits a knee to the head, and then hits a double forearm smash. Sheamus hits the Irish Curse then eyes up Goldust and runs at him and hits the Brogue Kick, then taunts the crowd. He picks up Goldust and hits the High Cross, and gets the win.

After the bell, he gets a mic and says what a difference a year makes. He brings up his feud with Goldust in ECW, and was making a name for himself then, but now he is dominant, and he is the WWE Champion. He didn't need a briefcase, and he isn't a third generation star, he did it all himself and the fans came to see him. He says Randy Orton couldn't beat Triple H, but he ended his career. He said he doesn't need respect or credit, he has everything he already needs, and holds up the WWE Title.

Winner - Sheamus

Loser Leaves Team WWE at Summerslam
Chris Jericho vs John Cena

Jericho punches Cena then works on him in the corner and hits a suplex. They trade punches and Cena misses a shoulderblock and flies out of the ring while Jericho celebrates, then goes outside and whips Cena into the steel steps. Cena barely makes it in before the ten count, and Jericho chokes him on the ropes. Cena charges at him but Jericho hits an elbow, then slingshots him throat first into the bottom rope and follows it with a rear chokehold.

Cena flips Jericho over him and dodges him to send Jericho shoulder first into the ringpost. Cena goes for the You Can't See Me, but takes too much time and Jericho hits the Codebreaker. Cena falls out of the ring and Jericho has to drag him back in, but when he makes the pin Cena kicks out at two as we go to a commercial.

Jericho continues to work on Cena, fights out of a STF attempt and tries the Walls of Jericho. Cena reverses into an Attitude Adjustment attempt, but Jericho floats over and holds the ropes and Cena falls out of the ring. When he tries to get back in, Jericho hits a springboard dropkick then goes outside to pick Cena up. He slams Cena into announcer's table and tells him to stay down, and calls him a stupid man. He throws Cena back inside and hits a top rope elbow, but still only manages a two count.

Cena trades punches with Jericho, and gets some offense in, but Jericho telegraphs a bulldog attempt and hits the Lionsault. Jericho clotheslines Cena in the corner and puts him on the top turnbuckle to attempt a suplex. Cena finds the strength to fight back and he shoves Jericho off, and hits a legdrop bulldog, but hurts his knee on the way down. He goes for the Attitude Adjustment but Jericho counters into the Walls, and after some time Cena counters into the STF and Jericho immediately taps out before Cena even has it locked in.

Winner - John Cena

Jericho flips out and throws the ring steps, and Cena asks him to stay on the team, because he is the best. He says he won't beg and says the choice is Jericho's. Cena says they can call a truce and they do what they need to do, or he walks out and he lets everyone down. Jericho takes the time to think about it, and starts to walk to the ring, before turning around and leaving to a chorus of boos. He pauses at the top of the ramp, then continues walking backstage.

Jericho walks into the locker room and finds Edge, and he asks Edge if he saw what happened. They both agree that they don't need John Cena, and they say that if they stick together, they could run RAW. Edge suggests they forget the past and work together, and they shake hands and hug. Michael Cole gets another email and says Edge and Jericho will team against John Cena and Bret Hart on RAW next week, and Nexus will be the lumberjacks!

Josh Mathews is with Randy Orton in the back and Orton says Sheamus isn't the only guy to take HHH out. He took out HHH for six weeks, and he invites Sheamus to ringside for his match tonight to see what he is talking about. Orotn says tonight Miz won't be in any shape to cash his MITB in, and it's Sheamus' turn in two weeks.

The Great Khali vs Ted DiBiase

Khali shoves Ted into the corner and kicks him in the chest before hitting an open handed chop. Ted dropkicks Khali's left leg and puts him in a front face lock, but Khali powers out and clotheslines Ted, then chokes him. Maryse provides a distraction and Ted rakes the eyes and attacks Khali while Nexus comes out. Ted watches them and turns around into a brain chop, then passes out due to being put in the Vise Grip.

Winner - The Great Khali

They play a promo for the movie "The Other Guys" and Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell are being interviewed and get interrupted by The Bella Twins. They are flirting with him and ignore Wahlberg, and Ferrell plays it off like he isn't interested. He finally leaves with them and Wahlberg says he likes Alicia Fox better, and the Bellas shove him and leave talking about getting drinks with Ferrell.

Miz comes to the ring for his match and says Orton made a mistake last week when he interrupted Miz's cash in. He says Orton will pay for what he did, and his best case scenario is that he beats Sheamus, but the next thing to happen is Miz's moment. Orton delayed the inevitable, and Miz will be WWE Champion, because he's the Miz and he's awesome!

The Miz vs Randy Orton

Miz and Orton lock up and try to get the upperhand, and Miz starts kicking Orton in the corner. He whips Orton into the turnbuckle but Orton bounces back and clotheslines Miz, then kicks him in the ribs and then in the side of the face. Orton tries again but Miz rolls out of the way and hits a high knee for two, then he kicks Orton in the corner until the ref calls for a break. Miz punches Orton then backs off, and Orton comes back and knocks Miz down and slingshots him, throat first, into the bottom rope. Orton clotheslines Miz over the top rope, and then sees Sheamus come to the top of the ramp as we go to a break

Orton has Miz in a headlock, but Miz fights out with a jawbreaker and hits a big boot to knock Orton down. Miz stomps the midsection of Orton, then kicks him in the head but only gets a two count. Orton reverses an Irish whip into a stepover backbreaker, but also goes down and holds his knee. He tries to go after Miz, but Miz pulls him down face first into the turnbuckle then hits a running clothesline in the corner. He punches Orton until the ref breaks it up, then Orton comes out of nowhere and hits an uppercut, but Miz knocks him right back down.

Orton fights off Miz's punches and punches him back, then hits a spinning powerslam. He gets up and follows it by attempting the DDT on the ropes, but Miz counters by hitting a backbody drop and sends Orton flying over the top rope to the outside. Miz hits a backbreaker neckbreaker combination, but only gets a two count and he can't believe it. Miz runs at Orton and tries to hit Orton with a lariat, but Orton ducks and hits the RKO to get the win!

Winner - Randy Orton

As soon as the bell rings Sheamus runs to the ring but Orton turns around and pounds the mat. Sheamus backs away as Orton stares him down, daring him to come in the ring as RAW goes off the air.
