The executive producer of NCIS has promised that the season premiere is shocking.
Shane Brennan told TV Guide that the episode will begin immediately after the events of the last finale, in which Gibbs' father Jackson (Ralph Waite) was in danger.
"We pick up the show right where we left off," he said. "And I advise every fan of the show to sit down and watch that first minute. It's explosive."
He added: "Ralph Waite is front and centre all the way through the episode."
Brennan revealed that all of the NCIS team become targets when their investigation into the murder of a helicopter pilot leads Gibbs (Mark Harmon) back to Paloma (Jacqueline Obradors), who is seeking revenge for the death of her father.
However, he continued: "We'll get back into showing NCIS as the team that it's always been."
