Former WWE star Dwayne Johnson is about to sign on for ""Journey 2: The Mysterious Island," the sequel to "Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D", according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Johnson will replace Brendan Frasier as the lead of the film. Frasier bowed out due to scheduling issues. Johnson will play the boyfriend of character Sean Anderson's mom, who Anderson is forced to bring on a trip to a mythical and monstrous island in a search for Anderson's missing grandfather. Anderson will be played by the returning Josh Hutcherson, who played Frasier's son in the first film.
The film is expected to start filming this October.
Like the original (which was a fun film), Journey 2 will be released in 3D.
