"Ultimate Fighter" season eight winner, Efrain Escudero has been released from the UFC following his loss to Charles Oliveira at UFC Fight Night 22.

Escudero confirmed his release to MMAWeekly.com.

Escudero is 2-2 since he won the eighth season of the "Ultimate Fighter" with wins over Cole Miller and Dan Lauzon, and losses against Evan Dunham and Charles Oliveira.

Escudero is the first "Ultimate Fighter" winner to be released from the UFC, Travis Lutter who won the fourth season of the "Ultimate Fighter" was also released but was a member of the UFC before he competed on the "comeback" season of the "Ultimate Fighter."

Escudero was defeated in the third round at UFC Fight Night 22 against Charles Oliveira last week in Austin, Texas, when Oliveira got the rear naked choke submission on Escudero to earn the victory.

Escudero told MMAWeekly.com that he will be taking a week off before he figures out his future plans.

Why? Seriously... why? Is the UFC low on money or something? First Todd Duffee and now this? Either that or they've just become trigger happy with released.
