Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic's eye injury-saga continues on today as Sherdog.com reports that the former Croatian parliamentarian has been initially cleared to compete at this Saturday's UFC 119 event despite his fairly serious eye injury. Sherdog.com spoke with Indiana State Athletic Commission Director Andy Means via email today concerning "Cro Cop's" appearance on the UFC 119 card, which is going down this Saturday night at the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

"The UFC informed me this afternoon that 'Cro Cop' saw the ophthalmologist today in Indianapolis and that he was cleared to fight. I anticipate seeing the results soon but all indications are that this is a non-issue," Means wrote. "He will just have to undergo the same pre-fight physical as the other 21 fighters this weekend before the event."

Reports surfaced late last week that "Cro Cop" had suffered an eye injury in training that would put his scheduled bout with Frank Mir in jeopardy. The report was then refuted by UFC President Dana White and then re-confirmed by "Cro Cop" himself. As it turns out, Filipovic did indeed injure his eye while sparring but intends to fight on in the face of doctor's orders
