AJ Michalka (The Lovely Bones, singer in 78violet) revealed today that she's been cast alongside Kyle Chandler, Elle Fanning, Ron Eldard, Noah Emmerich, Gabriel Basso, Joel Courtney, Riley Griffiths, Ryan Lee, and Zach Mills in J.J. Abrams' now-filming Super 8. Executive produced by Steven Spielberg (Amblin Entertainment), the sci-fi horror is slated for release in the summer of 2011 by Paramount Pictures. The pic is said to follow a bunch of kids who are shooting a movie with a Super 8 camera in the seventies or eighties. When they develop the film, they notice that there's an alien creature in the frame.
