Masato Yoshino vs. YAMATO, the first main event for the 10/30 PPV taping in Rahway, New Jersey was announced today, the first of three scheduled main events.

The night before will be the 10/29 Internet PPV in Fall River, MA, which Gabe Sapolsky is looking at as the most important event he's ever booked, since it will be the first live broadcast he's ever produced.

As we noted over the weekend, Dragon Gate USA avoided a near-disaster on Sunday as the promotion found itself without a ring for its Milwaukee debut. It all started for the company when the ring they originally booked for the show canceled on Thursday. On Friday evening, they struck a deal to use Platinum Wrestling's ring. However, the promoter of the company and former ROH personality Larry Sweeney were involved in an incident outside a club Saturday evening, landing both in the hospital after a bad beating. Sapolsky learned at 11:20 AM Sunday that his ring wasn't going to be there at all and they had a show scheduled within a few hours. That's a hell of a way to start off your birthday. Sapolsky finally negotiated a ring from Pro Wrestling Krush. When the ring arrived, the entire roster from BxB Hulk on down all helped to rush the ring in and set it up in time for the show to start 90 minutes late at 3:30 PM. Sapolsky was extremely thankful to the fans in Milwaukee for understanding and waiting. He walked the line showing everyone the text message so they understood the situation. In the end, the entire experience ended up helping to unite the locker room in a way they hadn't been before, with a lot of the lines between the Japanese and American sides dissolving into one cohesive team. Sapolsky is going to write a long blog about the entire crazy situation on the Heyman Hustle site.

There are plans for returns to both Chicago and Milwaukee in 2011. Milwaukee was a smaller venue but between the circumstances, the rabid crowd and the way the show worked out, some in the company felt it was the strongest DGUSA event ever.

Injury report from the weekend: Mike Quackenbush hurt his arm in a dive on Saturday, so his scheduled singles match against Dragon Kid was pulled and Quack worked a six way instead....Drake Younger was busted open hardway after a shot to the guard rail.

There's some heat on Younger for taking unprotected shots to the head by management, feeling it doesn't add anything to the show and it's been proven to be too dangerous to the long-term health of the wrestler.

Bryan Danielson went out of his way to stay and sign for everyone who wanted autographs over the weekend. As you can imagine, Gabe Sapolsky was glowing about how hard Danielson worked on both shows when he easily could have slid on by. Sapolsky saw the Danielson return as a huge blessing and boon to the company's bottom line, helping them raise the health of the company as they rebuilt their foundation after the unexpected exit of Davey Richards several months back caused a lot of creative strife.

DGUSA has released "Open The Northern Gate" at www.DGUSA.tv. The 2 DVD set features PAC & BxB Hulk vs. Shingo & YAMATO, Dragon Kid vs. Masato Yoshino in Best of 3 Falls, Naruki Doi vs. Masaaki Mochizuki, CIMA vs. Jimmy Jacobs, plus a bonus match from Full Impact Pro that hasn't been previously released Bryan "Daniel Bryan" Danielson vs. Matt "Evan Bourne" Sydal and more.

Dragon Gate USA will be running Wrestlemania weekend in Atlanta. If I can give them a strong piece of advice, do not run opposite ROH. There's enough room for everyone without splitting the audience. The biggest complaint I heard from fans last year is that they had to choose between the companies.
