Vince McMahon has gone back and forth on the time frame for unifying the World Heavyweight Championship and the WWE Championship, reports the Pro Wrestling Torch. At times he has wanted the unification to take place within 30 days, but company officials have urged him to wait until WrestleMania XXVII.

Many within the company feel they need to place the titles on the proper people and position them strongly in order to make the unification match a major event.

Though McMahon has come off adamant about unifying the titles, no one has ruled out the possibility of the WWE Chairman having a change of heart.

Do I get that right: World HEavyweight and the WWE Title are the unified, aka Undisputed Champion??!!!!

What will then be - the one Champion is fighting on both brands then???

Not a good idea...

a major event, with the way wwe are lacking the quality in matches and storylines, why wait till wrestlemania just disappoint us now and hand it to cena, because that is were itll be going. if its not cena itll be undertaker and why have it unified at wrestlemania because we know undertaker will win then his streak wont be beaten.. unless a big event is cena beating undertaker at wrestlemania which is higly unlikely.

I'd still like to be pleasantly surprised with an Orton vs Punk no holds barred match to unify the titles and it being a brilliant start to a new era of quality and at times violent wrestling.

More than likely HHH winning the Rumble and it being a triple threat between HHH, Cena and Taker with the added stipulation if Taker doesn't win then he'll retire. WWE trying to cover themselves by having Taker lose but not be pinned and culminating in dissapointment all round for most of us : /

To make titles mean more, they need to have brand specific PPVs. That way they can get a proper feud build and have the titles mean more. The reason they think unifying is worthwhile is because they have it all over the place and not focusing on feuds for each title.
