A LACK of flat shoes meant Mariah Carey was reduced to a wheelchair after twisting her ankle on stage in Singapore, Us Magazine reported Wednesday.
The 40-year-old singer, who is rumored to be pregnant, was spotted at the Los Angeles International Airport in a wheelchair on Tuesday, just days after she tumbled during a performance in Singapore.
Her representative, Cindi Berger, explained Wednesday that Carey needed to be wheeled around because she only brought high heels with her on the Singapore leg of her tour.
"Mariah twisted her ankle in Singapore and should have packed more sensible shoes, but she doesn't have any," Berger said.
"I'm sending her a pair of flats today."
With speculation Carey is pregnant, her fall sparked concern the baby may be harmed. However Carey and husband Nick Cannon, 29, continue to deny pregnancy reports.
"I appreciate everyone's well wishes. But I am very superstitious," she wrote on her website in August. "When the time is right, everyone will know -- even Cindi Berger."
