Jodie Foster has said that she is "surprised" Kristen Stewart has continued into an acting career.
Foster, who starred with Stewart in 2002's Panic Room, told E! Online that she did not think the 20-year-old would go on to become an actress in adulthood.
She explained: "[Kristen is] a great person, and I'm not surprised she's gone on to do great things. But I am surprised she is an actress.
"I didn't think that's where she was headed. And even though her mom said, 'No, she really wants to be an actress', I felt like, 'Nah, she won't because she really doesn't have the stereotypical personality'."
Foster added that Stewart does not want to become a celebrity. She said: "Anybody who has a brain doesn't [want to be famous]. That tells you how smart Kristen Stewart is."
