The boxoffice is how it should be as horror has once again been crowned king of October. With Saw 3D opening next Friday, Paramount Pictures kickstared the genre takeover with the monster success of Paranormal Activity 2, which took in an estimated $41.5m on 3,216 screens -- and that was without cheating and using 3-D to drive up ticket prices (although it played in a few IMAX theaters). If Saw 3D continues to track strong, we could be seeing a battle of the horror titans next Friday.
