We have learned via The Wrestling Observer that despite the fact that Linda McMahon lost her bid for the United States Senate this past Tuesday, World Wrestling Entertainment will NOT be dropping their PG programming.

The switch to PG was originally made due to WWE's relationship with Mattel, who currently produces all of the organization's toys. WWE is said to be "very happy" with Mattel, and according to numerous sources, WWE is not expected to do away with their PG initiative anytime soon.

I tried to tell people who thought "OMG LINDA LOST NO PG YAY" They didn't go PG cause of Linda its because of this. Now maybe it will push the PG Limit more but they are not going back to TV 14 anytime soon at least for another 3-5 years I say.

You do know that PG really isn't much of the reason why it sucks right? I've seen alot of PG shows that are good because they have good writers. WWE could be TV 14 TV MA anything and still suck with the writers they have today. I mean look at TNA its not much better then WWE right now and its TV 14. Ratings of the show have nothing to do with how good or bad it is. Good Writers could make even PG Shows good.

We did guess it who the hell thought that it would go back to Normal? Alot of us want/wanted it yes but John Cena is great for kids. Merchandise etc it's family oriented more Hollywood Style of Wrestling.

I don't like PG-Stuff either way. Wrestling or movies or TV. Kids have ruined all that used to be fun.

I can name a list of good PG Shows

Chuck is my favorite show at the moment its rated PG. Hell Toy Story is rated f'n G and its gotta be the greatest series of movies. I mean hell if it was TV 14 what you'd get maybe more skin of women? That is what porn is for  I mean you watch wrestling for wrestling right? That is what you said once so I mean so the rating shouldn't matter to you cause WWE would still have the same crap just more crap if it was rated tv 14...just saying bro.

Exactly. I think it's ridiculous that people think just because the rating were to change the product would suddenly and miraculously becoming that much better. Is a little blood, more weapons and more skin with the divas going to make things any better, if the writing remains lackluster, like it is? Not so much.

For those who say WWE was still PG a few times during the Attitude Era & Smackdown since it's inception, yes it was but there was still blood, more sexy women & cursing. Why not any more ?! because of Linda running for senate ! which just ended a few days a go.

The WWE/Mattel partnership couldn't have come at a better time for WWE which started in Feb 2008 & the deal only took affect now in 2010 because they can change the rating for them & for Linda's satisfaction. Now I think Mattel would only care about the rating & not the content which is good for us fans because WWE would have more freedom now with the shows since Linda already lost. Remember, PG should still allow blood, divas in bra and panties & cursing as well. That's how SD was in 99 & early 2000's & was still rated PG.

The PG Rating coincides also with Vinces strange opinion that WWE is not in the wrestling business, they're in the entertainment business.

PG isn't great by any stretch and it can be really irritating when, at times as an older viewer, you feel like you almost aren't supposed to be watching but I think it is Vinces viewpoint about being and entertainment company rather than a wrestling company is ultimately what is harming the product more than anything else.

WWE could be TV-14 and they would still get bad ratings its all down to the writers and quality of matches.

PG like I have said all along and Brandon said just now is not the reason why they're in trouble it's due to poor storyline and reluctance to push new stars and unless TNA grows real big it'll stay the same because there is no competition, the ratings are still good and PPV buyrates are the only problem as of now which shall be addressed soon

It's all the writing's fault. Sure PG gives it some limits but I know for a fact that even if WWE were Rated MA and had the same writing right now it'd be just a huge trash-fest. It all comes down to the writers, not the show rating.

I for one do think that blood, skin-baring Divas and more language will add something to the product. Will the writing still suck? Yeah, but seeing some hardcore action and some Divas showing off serious skin and having lingerie contests will add some pros to watching bad shows. I remember back in the attitude era Divas really pushed the limit, showing off a lot and even going nude but not really revealing it all. That was some holy sh!t moments back then that we haven't seen in a while. Back when the Hardcore title was pushed, there were a hell of a lot of crazy matches, championship scrambles and such. But now everything is dumbed down, people talk more than wrestle, and it gets old.
