WWE.com has an article up documenting the history of The Nexus. According to the article, Skip Sheffield is no longer considered a member of the group.

The article states: "Immediately following that heinous first attack, the stalwart Bryan expressed remorse for his actions and parted ways with The Nexus, while Tarver, Sheffield and Young were later deemed unworthy of the rebels' signature armband either due to exile or injury. However, as witnessed by the WWE Universe, the group only grew stronger and more streamlined as a result of the changes within its ranks."

Sheffield injured his ankle in a tag team match with David Otunga against The Hart Dynasty at the Aug. 18 live event in Honolulu, Hawaii. It was later determined that he suffered a compound fracture of his ankle and was initially expected to be out for four to six months.

It should be noted that Sheffield was never officially ousted from the group on RAW. Wade Barrett acknowledged once that Sheffield suffered an ankle injury.

meh i was still hopping that he'd stay with them. while hes not flashy in the ring he did do solid work. pretty much not being in nexus though would be the same as getting released , unless your bryan danielson.

The best thing they can do with Sheffield if he's ready in time is to continue the domination angle with Ezekial Jackson and maybe closer to the time have him so some mic work (perhaps get Regal back as his mouth piece) saying how no one can match him for physical dominence etc.

Cue Big Zeke dominating in the Rumble until Sheffield appears and and they have an intense brawl with niether gaining the upper hand per se and they end up both going over the ropes together and carrying on the fight outside.

Leading to Sheffield on Raw playing it up how he matched the supposed dominator etc.

If they have enough confidence in them let them have an all out extreme rules match/street fight at the PPV or if they're good enough (not seen enough of either myself to determine yet) have them in the Chamber then one on one at 'Mania.
