Ward, who is still managed by Simon Cowell, recently released new single Gotta Be Somebody along with a bold, new video.
Ward defended his absence from the UK charts saying: "I spent a lot of time in Asia and South Africa promoting the album there as well and doing gigs there too. When people don't know that I'm here, they think that I'm having time off. I wish!"
The singer also confessed that every decision on his material is made by Simon Cowell adding: "Every decision is made by Simon...it needs to pass him if it's going to be a yes."
Ward recently denied saying that Simon's latest X Factor proteges One Direction had mimed on the shows.
