Former Miss USA Shanna Moakler has spoken out in defence of her new reality show Bridalplasty.
Moakler will star as the show's hostess, following 12 brides-to-be as they compete for the ultimate prize - a plastic surgery wishlist ahead of their wedding day.
"Some want the surgery, some the dream wedding," Moakler explained to StyleList. "I think you are going to find these women very relatable in some cases."
The former Meet The Barkers star defended the show, claiming that a number of the contestants need the surgery in order to feel good about themselves again.
"We have a contestant who's had breast cancer and a woman who was on The Biggest Loser who lost 90 pounds through diet and exercise," Moakler reasoned. "She has so much excess skin it doesn't matter how many crunches she does, it's not going away."
Despite criticisms of the show's premise, Moakler claims that viewers will be pleasantly surprised when they watch it.
Bridalplasty launches on US network E! with a premiere on November 28.
