Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada has claimed that he will refrain from hyping up the forthcoming Ultimate Comics 'Death of Spider-Man' story arc in order to allow the event to speak for itself.
The story arc will take place across both Ultimate Spider-Man and Ultimate Avengers vs. New Ultimates early next year and promises serious repercussions across the entire brand.
"You've heard it here first - for the first time I'm not going to engage anyone in any hype or teasers designed to break the internet in half," Quesada told CBR. "But I will say this, when we all got together last month to discuss the Ultimate Universe, it was like being right back at the beginning ten years ago."
Despite Quesada's promise to refrain from hyping the event, the company recently released a number of teasers claiming that the storyline will be "a storyline unlike no other".
"Let's just say that the Ultimate Universe is going to set the standard once again," Quesada added.
'The Death of Spider-Man' begins with a prelude in Ultimate Spider-Man #153 in February 2011.
