Download/Install
Because Rhythmbox 0.13.2 requires newer dependecnies than provided by by default in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick users wanting to make to upgrade will need to use a ‘backport’ PPA created by Robert Schmidt.

To add and install from the PPA, which Rob notes was created to help him learn packaging, open a Terminal and enter: -

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:rjeschmi/rjeschmi-ppa

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install rhythmbox

Users should be aware that this build does not include the Ubuntu One Music Store due to build issues. Rob says that he hopes ‘to get it fixed’ soon.
