Virgin Media is bringing a host of new handsets to its mobile phone service including, for the first time, a Windows Phone 7 device in the shape of the Samsung Omnia 7.

The phone features a 4-inch AMOLED touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera and comes with HD video recording and playback functionality. It'll be available on Virgin Media from January 2011, and will be free on a £35 tariff with unlimited texts, 1,000 minutes and 1GB mobile web.

In addition, the carrier is expanding its handset line-up with two BlackBerry models, the 9800 Torch and 9780 Bold, the Pocket-lint Gadget Award-winning HTC Desire HD, the Android-driven Sony Ericcson X8, and two Nokias, the C7 and budget-friendly C3-01.

All of them are either available now or from the beginning of the new year, and are on a variety of different contracts and price plans, with the C3-01 being the cheapest as it's free on a £10-a-month tariff with 50 minutes, 250 texts and 500MB mobile web data.
