While Paramount Pictures isn't known for horror, they always find a way to squeeze in one quality pic around their new franchise, Paranormal Activity. Most of that can be attributed to J.J. Abrams, who after producing Cloverfiled, is set to unleash Super 8 this summer - this time taking on directing duties! Thankfully Paramount finally got Case 39 out of their system, I'd like to forget it even exists.
--PARAMOUNT PICTURES 2011 HORROR MOVIE PREVIEW--
Dates Subject to Change
SUPER 8 (June 10, Paramount)
According to earlier reports the flick follows a bunch of kids who are shooting a movie with a Super 8 camera in the seventies or eighties. When they develop the film, they notice that there's an alien creature in the frame.
PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3 (October 21, Paramount)
No details.
AREA 51 (TBD, Paramount)
The film employs the "found footage" narrative structure that director Oren Peli used in Paranormal Activity to tell the story of three teens whose curiosity leads them to the notorious Area 51 portion of Nellis Air Force Base in the Nevada desert.
